Upon his arrival in Paris in 1956, Azzedine Alaïa worked as a couturier for a private clientele.
Azzedine Alaïa was a virtuoso cutter. His technical skills steemed from his deep admiration for the couturiers of the past and from his long experience with the clients he so expertly served.Alaïa was also an exceptional collector. He started in 1968 with some exquisite pieces acquired when Cristóbal Balenciaga closed his fashion house.
Since 1964, Alaïa is a legendary Parisian Couture Maison, which, beyond fashion, reveals the power of femininity and the timelessness of beauty in the spirit of its namesake creator.
