Montparnasse 19 (titlul original: în franceză Les Amants de Montparnasse / Montparnasse 19) este un film de coproducție dramatic franco-italian, realizat în 1958 de regizorul Jacques Becker, după romanul Les Montparnos, de Michel Georges-Michel, protagoniști fiind actorii Gérard Philipe, Lilli Palmer, Anouk Aimée și Lila Kedrova.

Film Synopsis. I n the Montparnasse district of Paris in 1919, a young Italian painter, Amedeo Modigliani, struggles to make a living as an artist. He falls in love with Jeanne, the daughter of wealthy parents. Against her parents' wishes, Jeanne moves in with Modigliani, who is suffering from tuberculosis and has a drink problem.

Max Ophuls, the famed director of Letter from an Unknown Woman and Le Plaisir, died during its production, leaving his friend Jacques Becker to complete the picture.
So ist MONTPARNASSE 19 auch heute noch ein bildgewaltiges Werk, das mit glänzenden Darstellern begeistert. Die DVD-Veröffentlichung von filmjuwelen ist einfach grandios. Der Film ist bei einer Laufzeit von 106 Minuten ungekürzt, was zur Folge hat, dass einige längere Sequenzen, die einst geschnitten waren, nun in der französischen Originalsprache zu hören sind und deutsch untertitelt wurden.
