The film primarily delves into the intricacies of the mother-daughter relationship. However, despite its focus, the film’s press release made it clear that “Although Bad Behaviour is not specifically about Alice Englert’s relationship with her own mother, the film was inspired by the numerous spiritual retreats she’s attended over the years alongside her mother.”
Alice Englert’s feature debut, Bad Behaviour had its International Premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival as part of the World Cinema Dramatic Competition. The film was also featured in Official Competition at the Sydney International Film Festival and played at both the Melbourne International Film Festival and at Whānau Mārama | New Zealand International Film Festival.
Falton911 26 January 2023. Jennifer Connelly and Ben Wishaw both give great performances in a film that is just unfortunately too unfocused. Alice Englert (who also stars as Dylan in the film) makes her directorial debut here with a lot of style. The camerawork was very unique and interesting.
