When his self-reliant mother dies unexpectedly, Atticus flees deep into the forests surrounding his Catskills home. Wandering the woods in shock, relying on what meager food and shelter he comes across, Atticus’ grasp on reality begins to fray.
Réalisé par le Britanique Tom Gilroy, ancien acteur de Ken Loach dans "Land and Freedom" et dont les deux premiers longs-métrages restent encore inédits en France ("Spring Forward" en 1999, "Touch Base" en 1994), "The Cold Lands" touche par la jolie complicité qui unit ce fils à sa mère, incarnée par une Lily Taylor épatante en mère courage.
