Lambchop. Lambchop (engl.: Lammkotelett) ist eine US-amerikanische Rockband aus Nashville, Tennessee. Die Band ist ein bis zu 18-köpfiges Kollektiv um den ehemaligen Parkettleger Kurt Wagner (* 1958), der sowohl die Texte als auch die Musik schreibt und mit seiner leicht rauchigen Stimme den Sound der Band prägt.

Dovendo spiegare l’intestazione dell’album, Kurt Wagner – da sempre responsabile del progetto Lambchop – ha detto: «Non sono una persona religiosa, ma credo ci sia spiritualità in molte persone che non lo sono». Conta qualcosa l’età, ora 63 anni, probabilmente, e l’ombra della fine in lontananza.

Lambchop began in the 1990s, at the time pronouncing itself “Nashville’s most fucked-up country band.” Provocative it may have been, but the description made sense: at the heart of all that ruckus was a band at once defying and embracing the musical legacy of its hometown.
