3 mag 2022 · Dean Potter. Aron Ralston (October 27, 1975) is an American climber, skier, and amputee. Ralston became famous in 2003 after becoming pinned by a boulder in a slot canyon south of Canyonlands National Park, Utah. After spending five nights in the canyon, in danger of dying of dehydration, Ralston sawed his right arm off below the elbow to escape.
