Collective Soul is an American rock band originally from Stockbridge, Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, the group consists of lead vocalist Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, drummer Johnny Rabb, and lead guitarist Jesse Triplett.

In fact, the three-year break between their last, the critically acclaimed Blood, marks the band’s shortest time period in between releases since 2007’s Afterwords and their 2009 self-titled release.

"Collective Soul was one of the first non-grunge rock bands to incorporate some of the hallmarks of grunge, namely the loud crunchy guitars, thus ushering in the 'post-grunge' movement. Their albums mixed some hard-rocking anthemic songs like "Shine" and "Gel" along with pretty ballads such as "The World I Know" to create a radio-friendly sound that was perfect for the mid-'90s airwaves.
