1 giorno fa · Following further pressure a new block was added to the east of the main site in 1871–2, designed by the borough surveyor Frederick Haslam and built by Charles Clements. The building has a recessed centre between two wings, and provided boys' and girls' schoolrooms, day rooms, and wash rooms, with dormitories above and separate sitting- and bedrooms for the schoolmaster and mistress.
