16 lug 1996 · John Panozzo was the original drummer and a founding member of the rock band Styx. Panozzo grew up on the south side of Chicago in the Roseland neighborhood with his fraternal twin brother, Chuck. At age seven, the twins took music lessons from their uncle in which John took an interest in drums and percussion.

John J. Curulewski (October 3, 1950 – February 13, 1988) was an American musician who was one of the original members of Styx. Career Curulewski's grave at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery. In 1969, Curulewski joined the Chicago-based band TW4, featuring college friends Dennis DeYoung, Chuck Panozzo, and John Panozzo.
Chuck Panozzo lasciò il gruppo per diplomarsi ma vi tornò già nel 1964, venendo sostituito in quegli anni da Tom Nardin che rimase poi in formazione come chitarrista, mentre Chuck Panozzo divenne bassista.
