25 lug 2006 · At first listen, Lateduster displays some obvious similarities to other modern instrumental groups (Jaga Jazzist/Tortoise). However, this band offers a unique and refreshing sense of freedom in their compositions, shifting gears from the electronically-treated jamming of album opener "Shaker/Flicker" to the hauntingly introverted piano of "Keno."

Where Lateduster are different is their production; their low-reverb percussion pulsates from their dual drumsets and fills most of the sonic space, with gentle electronics and guitar filling in all the remaining crevices.
These songs were recorded at Extra Virgin by Martin Dosh in December of 2001, February of 2002, and June of 2002. They were processed at Soliton by Jeremy Ylvisaker in September of 2002, then taken to Crazy Beast, where more instruments were played by Lateduster and recorded by Ben Durrant
