Del score de "The River Wild", debo decir que, dentro de las posibilidades del maestro, se queda solamente en algo correcto. Básicamente, Goldsmith se redujo a reutilizar tonadillas y melodías en su personal estilo, pero sin presentarnos ninguna innovación. Así, el tema principal, "Gale's Theme", recuerda en toda su belleza al tema de "Rudy".
