First of all, hats of to "Renjith & Crew" for this excellent masterpiece.... As i heard that Renjith is making the film, i read the novel... To tell the truth, I didn't think anyone could make the novel a decent movie... the novel was basically so complex... but on seeing the film i changed my opinion.. though it misses out on several aspect of the novel, i really liked the movie...
The novel, titled Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha itself, was written by director Ranjith's friend T. P. Rajeevan and was published in the Mathrubhumi Weekly an year before onwards. The novel was based on the true story of Manikyam, who was raped and murdered in the early 1950s.
