The 2010s have been a big dang deal in the life of Chely Wright. She kicked off the decade by coming out in a very public way, with a huge media blitz supporting an autobiography ( Like Me ) and an album ( Lifted Off the Ground ); she also became a philanthropist, founding the LikeMe Organization , whose goals are to sustain and strengthen the LGBT community.
In 2016, Wright released I Am the Rain, an album produced by Joe Henry; the album debuted at 13 on Billboard's Country Album charts, her best showing since The Metropolitan Hotel placing at 18. Wright revived her label Painted Red in 2018 to release the seasonal EP, Santa Will Find You.
