The school taught grades 6 through 12, and later 912 only. Founded in 1956, by the late Vernon E. Simpson, Montclair College Preparatory Schoo.
The location was so bad for the caliber of the school. All the other private schools were tucked up in the hills south of Ventura Blvd. But the founder/principal "Doc" had such a great reputation that parents would schlep the kids to Roscoe. The school went into decline only after he died. Go Mounties!
