In 1972, Bandar married Haifa bint Faisal, with whom he had eight children: four sons and four daughters. His daughter Princess Reema bint Bandar, who was formerly married to Faisal bin Turki bin Nasser Al Saud, is the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United States, being the first woman to hold such position in the Kingdom.
