The Shirelles were an American girl group formed in Passaic, New Jersey in 1957. They consisted of schoolmates Shirley Owens, Doris Coley, Addie "Micki" Harris, and Beverly Lee. Founded in 1957 for a talent show at their high school, they were signed by Florence Greenberg of Tiara Records. 23 dic 2003 · I accidently stumbled across this DVD and I'm glad I did. I have a personal connection with one of the original Shirelles (Doris Jackson)as I help treat her for breast cancer in the late 1990's (she passed away in 2000.)This DVD highlights Doris with 2 backup singers (not original Shirelles) but they captured the soul and essence of the Shirelles perfectly.

As with any Ace product the quality of recording is well - Ace! Most people will know 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' but may not realise how many good records were recorded by the Shirelles. Whether you are taking a trip down memory lane or are new to the Shirelles' work, I can strongly recommend this album as a really good listen.
