Stephen Lack a également eu une carrière impressionnante comme acteur. Il a travaillé à deux reprises avec le célèbre directeur canadien David Cronenberg, en 1981 il est un des acteurs principal du filme culte Scanners, puis en 1988 il est de la distribution d’un autre film culte de Cronenberg Dead Ringers, en compagnie de Jeremy Iron et Geneviève Bujold.
