An unfortunate life. A pseudo-sequel to Pasolini's Accattone which wouldn't even score too badly in comparison, most of all thanks to Armando Nannuzzi's crisp cinematography and to how, through that, the two rather obscure directors Paolo Heusch and Brunello Rondi rendered once more the sense of space around the outskirts of Rome (and of course, the rough lives of the 'borgatari' over there).

These brutally realistic depictions of the poverty and squalor of slum life in Rome were similar in character to his first film, Accattone (1961), and all three works dealt with the lives of thieves, prostitutes, and other denizens of the Roman underworld.
