To be fair , Prizefighter is neither of these but it’s certainly not a film that will live long in memory. At the turn of the 19th century, Pugilism was the sport of kings and a gifted young boxer fought his way to becoming champion of England. The biggest problem with this movie is the lead actor , Matt Hookings who plays Jem Belcher .

A film that even with a microbudget could still attract names like Ray Winstone, Julian Glover, Jodhi May, Steven Berkoff, Marton Csokas and even an actual Oscar winner in Russell Crowe his very self.
