Striking the fine balance between joyous experience of life and an overwhelmingly crippling pain of heartbreak, Binoche is in riveting form here. Akin to a light switch, she can fluctuate in scenes from sorrow to join and back again.

I’m fascinated by how the film can feel warm and close, so especific yet at same time keep itself out of reach.
