1 dic 2009 · The U.K. Subs will be embarking on their final full tour of the U.K. this September when they play 16 gigs in England, Scotland, and Wales over a 24 day period, starting on the 7th, with the finale taking place with two gigs in two days at their spiritual home at London’s legendary 100 Club on the 29th and 30th, a venue which the band have played on numerous occasions.
Starting out as The Subversives, the name was shortened to The Subs and then changed to U.K. Subs, whilst early line-ups merged their high-speed R&B sound into punk. October 1977 saw Charlie joined by Nicky Garratt on guitar, and it was the Harper/Garratt song writing partnership that would go on to collaborate on the band’s most successful record releases.
With the U.K. Subs' final ever tour of the UK scheduled to finish on 1st October at the 100 Club, Charlie will then be setting off on a solo show tour of Japan, which commences on the 7th October, encompassing seven gigs, with the first six being solo shows and the final gig, on the 28th October, being with a local Japanese band.

UK Subs (též U.K. Subs) je britská punková skupina soustředěná kolem zpěváka Charlieho Harpera, který je dnes jediným původním členem. Od roku 1980 kombinovala ve své tvorbě punkové a metalové vlivy a stála tak u zrodu hardcore .
UK Subs. The UK Subs were another group that emerged from the scene at The Roxy in London in 1977. Founder and Lead Vocalist Charlie Harper was playing in R&B and pub rock groups before being influenced by bands like The Damned to turn to punk. The band initially started in 1976 as "The Subversives" with singer Charlie Harper.
