The Two Of Us (1986) Ashley Phillips is an average young man with a fairly average set of ambitions: he yearns for semi-detached bliss with a mortgage, a wife and a baby. He already shares a basement flat with the fiercely independent Elaine, a doctor’s daughter, but she resolutely rejects every one of Ashley’s marriage proposals.
10/10. Wonderful 1980s British sitcom, very much of its era. istara 10 February 2015. The premise for The Two of Us was young, modern couple Ashley and Elaine "living in sin" - much to the disapproval of Ashley's parents. Yes, as late as the 1980s this was still considered amusingly controversial enough in Britain to base an entire series around.
