From 2006 to 2009, Manfred Weber was Spokesman on Home Affairs for the EPP-ED Group, as the EPP Group was known at the time. He has been a Member of the EPP Group Bureau since 2006 and was elected Vice-Chair of the EPP Group after the 2009 European elections, before becoming Chair in 2014.
Manfred Weber (born 14 July 1972) is a German politician who has served as President of the European People's Party (EPP) since 2022 and as Leader of the EPP Group in the European Parliament since 2014. He has been a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from Germany since 2004.

Since 2004 I have been a member of the European Parliament and thus the voice of 1.2 million Lower Bavarians in Europe. In 2014, the EPP Group elected me as its group chairman for the first time.
