14 apr 2024 · Issachar was one of the twelve sons of Jacob, who later became the twelve tribes of Israel. He was the ninth son born to Jacob and Leah, his first wife. Issachar’s birth is recorded in the book of Genesis, where it is mentioned that Leah named him Issachar because she had hired him with the mandrakes she had obtained. Issachar had four sons: Tola, Puvah, Job, and Shimron.
