The University of Agder is helping to prepare the region for the future, and we work closely with business and industry in terms of creation and innovation. Around 1 200 teachers , nurses , engineers , economists and administrators are educated at the University of Agder each year.
The University of Agder became a university in 2007, but its roots span over more than 190 years. The institution was established as a university college in 1994 with the merger of six colleges and was granted its current status as a university in 2007, but its academic activity dates as far back as 1839.
