Molte delle band che hanno creato e scritto la storia del genere passeranno per l’Italia nei prossimi mesi, e da oggi alla lista si aggiungono niente meno che i Dead Kennedys. Lo storico gruppo californiano è stato annunciato come ultimo nome internazionale del Bay Fest di Bellaria-Igea Marina (Rimini)
24 apr 2024 · Ai Dead Kennedys, allora, spettò il compito finale: quello di istituzionalizzare (che brutto termine!) l’hardcore (ritmi più veloci, chitarre più pirotecniche e “I don’t need your way of life”), riscoprendo anche una consapevolezza politica e sociale, seppur ferocemente connotata da ironia e cinismo.

Dead Kennedys were San Francisco's leading "criminal" punk band. Formed in 1978 by the two guitarists East Bay Ray (Ray Peppernell ) and 6025 (Carlos Cadona ), they soon fell into the hands of singer Jello Biafra (Eric Boucher), born and raised in Colorado, to the committed tradition of the Bay, who made them the moral voice of the Californian punk movement.
