Il giorno della Regina, o Koninginnedag come lo si voglia chiamare, è una vera festa nazionale in Olanda. In questo giorno si celebra il compleanno della Regina dei Paesi Bassi . Anche se è in originale la data corrisponde al compleanno della Regina Juliana (la madre della Regina Beatrice), e non della attuale Regina Beatrice, si continua comunque a celebrare il suo compleanno il 30 aprile.

Queen’s Day, known as ‘Koninginnedag,’ is celebrated with great fervor in Amsterdam through a night and day carnival-like event at the end of April. The celebrations are so grand that it looks like the whole city is one giant party. Shops, individuals, and tourists join in the festivities. It’s a great tourist event too!

Koningsdag. Koninginnedag er en national festdag, som fejres i Nederlandene, på de Nederlandske Antiller og Aruba. I 1949 blev den flyttet fra dronning Wilhelminas fødselsdag 31. august til 30. april. Fejringen begynder natten til 30. april, som kaldes koninginnenacht (dronningenat).
