Gabe Ford has been a drum tech for Richie Hayward the last two-and-a-half years. Following Little Feat’s 2009 Jamaican excursion, Gabe flew from Montego Bay to Boston to embark on a six- week tour with his uncle Robben.
Little Feat announced that their drum technician Gabe Ford would take his place. Hayward married and was living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, with his liver cancer in remission as he awaited a transplant.

Rooster Rag is the fifteenth album by American rock band Little Feat released in June 2012, on the Hot Tomato label. It was their only studio album to feature drummer Gabe Ford and the last to feature guitarist Paul Barrere who died in 2019.

Gabe Ford spent his early career in the San Francisco Bay area playing with a popular pop band called 008. He played the blues at the same time by playing and recording with his uncles as well as Chris Cain and Michael Osborn. In 2006 Ford released his first self titled solo album.
This CD reveals Gabe's many talents with him playing drums throughout and keys and guitar on many tracks. He also does all the singing and wrote all but two songs. On these recordings Gabe is supported by the talents of Robben Ford, Mark Ford, Chris Cain and others.
