Sir David Lean CBE (Croydon, 25 de març de 1908 − Londres, 16 d'abril del 1991) fou un director de cinema, guionista i muntador anglès. Considerat com un dels directors més influents de tots els temps, Lean és famós sobretot per les seves epopeies èpiques com El pont del riu Kwai (1957), Lawrence d'Aràbia (1962), Doctor Jivago (1965) i Passatge a l'Índia .
