Tito Flavio Cesare Vespasiano Augusto (in latino Titus Flavius Caesar Vespasianus Augustus; nelle epigrafi: IMP·T·CAESAR·VESPASIANUS·AVG·PON·M·TR·POT; Roma, 30 dicembre 39 – Aquae Cutiliae, 13 settembre 81), meglio conosciuto semplicemente come Tito, è stato un imperatore romano, appartenente alla dinastia flavia e regnante per poco più di due anni dal 79 alla sua morte.
Vita e attività. Figlio primogenito di Vespasiano e di Flavia Domitilla, sposò in seconde nozze Marcia Furnilla, dalla quale ebbe una figlia, Giulia. Partecipò col padre alla guerra giudaica, ed ebbe una parte importante in molte azioni vittoriose; poi (69) accompagnò il padre, già acclamato imperatore, in Egitto.

Soon thereafter, Titus married Marcia Furnilla. The marriage represented a notable success for the Flavians, as Marcia was of a noble family, the granddaughter of a former proconsul of Africa. Suspicions of political intrigue were ever present in first-century Rome, however, and when Marcia's family fell into disfavor with Nero , the brief marriage ended in divorce.
