Recorded at Caribou Studios in Colorado, Chicago VIII was a rock & roll powerhouse and reached No. 1 in the US. Three singles were released for the album, Harry Truman, Brand New Love Affair and fan favorite Old Days. The original LP packaging included an iron-on t-shirt decal comprised of the album cover art. As Cetera's replacement, Chicago found Jason Scheff, the 23-year-old bass-playing son of famed bassist Jerry Scheff, a longtime sideman with Elvis Presley. Scheff boasted a tenor voice that allowed him to re-create Cetera's singing on many Chicago hits. The split with Cetera had a negative commercial impact, however.
21 gen 2007 · Chicago VIII was recorded in September of 1974. The band has just finished a long tour, not to mention a second Dick Clark TV Special. Suffice to say, the members of Chicago were a little tired. However, few signs of fatigue showed in the finished product of Chicago VIII.

19 gen 2015 · Apart from "Old Days" and "Oh, Thank You Great Spirit" does not have a lot to offer. Similar to VI it plays it really safe, and unlike VI it is a detriment to this album. Bland songs when we saw just the year before what they can do. Purchasing Chicago VIII from Amazon helps support Album of the Year.
