The Broadway star was born in Pennsylvania and displayed an interest in drama and theatrics from a young age. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University College of Fine Arts in Drama he went on to gain a certification from the graduate-level Professional Program in screenwriting at UCLA.

9 gen 2020 · Beginning his career on Broadway in the ’90s, Porter has become hugely in-demand since Pose first aired in June 2018. In 2020, he can be seen alongside Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish in the comedy Like A Boss, while in 2021, Porter will star alongside Idina Menzel in a live-action remake of Cinderella which, he told Teen Vogue in December, will be a “Cinderella for the Me-Too era”.
