Frank Oz’s movie directing career began in 1981 when Jim Henson asked him to help direct Jim’s The Dark Crystal. Oz co-wrote, performed in and directed The Muppets Take Manhattan , and his first non-Henson directorial credit was the film adaptation of Little Shop of Horrors in 1986.
