Cloris Leachman received a well-earned Emmy nomination as the matriarch of a dirt-poor family of migrant pickers who suffer miseries and indignities that would break many people. Ed Lauter, Ron Howard, and Sissy Spacek play her husband and children and all do fantastic work.
