Brasenose College purchased the house for the sake of that door knocker, which was brought to Oxford and now hangs over the high table in Hall. The College historians of the 1890s were convinced that the fourteenth century students of Brasenose Hall took the knocker from which they derived their name to Stamford, and that it had been restored to its rightful home at last.
The college is on the site of the earlier Brazenose hall. It is not known when Brasenose Hall became Brasenose College. The college uses the year 1509 as the date of its foundation as a college. That is the earliest written record of the college. A royal charter was issued for the "King's Hall and College at Brasenose" on 15 January 1512.

Brasenose College ist wie von Zauberhand befindet sich im Zentrum von Oxford University. Die Anlage ist wunderschön und das Frühstück im Speisesaal war fantastisch. Alles in allem würde ich empfehlen, hier, aber es ist wahrscheinlich besser in das erzählen die Geschichte selbst eher als die Erfahrung.
