Mary Blair (McAlester, Oklahoma, 21 de octubre de 1911 – Soquel, California, 26 de julio de 1978) fue una artista estadounidense destacada por el trabajo que realizó para The Walt Disney Company. Over the years, Mary contributed to the design of many exhibits, attractions, and murals for the theme parks in California and Florida, including the fanciful murals in the Grand Canyon Concourse at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort Hotel. Mary Blair passed away on July 26, 1978, in Soquel, California.
4 apr 2021 · Mary Blair joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in the 1940s, beginning in the character-model department. Her extraordinary talent was soon recognized, and she was moved to the story department where she created the concept art for many of what are known as Disney’s ‘Silver Age’ or ‘Restoration Age’ animated films.
Mary Blair (born Mary Browne Robinson; October 21, 1911 – July 26, 1978) was an American artist, animator, and designer. She was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella.
Mary Blair change de technique, adoptant la gouache. Au cours des années 1950, son travail relève de ce qu'on nomme en anglais concept art : elle assure la direction artistique des principaux projets de dessins animés, réalisant des centaines d'études préliminaires qui serviront de source d'inspiration aux décorateurs.
13 ago 2007 · Mary Blair continue son travail de création pour le parc de Californie et réalise des fresques murales pour l'Inner Space Building et le Circle-Vision Building de Tomorrowland. En 1970, pour sa dernière collaboration avec Disney, elle signe la décoration de l'hôtel Contemporary Resort de Walt Disney World en Floride.
