Peter Carey (novelist) Peter Carey (2014) Peter Carey (born 1943) is an Australian novelist who has won many awards including two Booker Prizes. [1] He first won the Booker Prize in 1988 for his book, Oscar and Lucinda. He won again in 2001 for his book The True History of the Kelly Gang. [2] Only one other author has won this award twice.
