10 mag 2024 · Released in 1987 to promote the theatrical re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the film's 50th anniversary. Though designated in 1990 as Volume One (just as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is "Animated Feature #1"), Sing-Along Songs: Heigh-Ho was the second release, preceded by Sing-Along Songs: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah (1986).
The simple film only cost $950,000 (equivalent to $19,680,000 in 2023) to produce, half the cost of Snow White, less than a third of the cost of Pinocchio, and certainly less than the expensive Fantasia. Dumbo eventually grossed roughly more than $1.3 million (equivalent to $33,140,000 in 2023) during its original release.
While Walt Disney studios had entered the early 1940s with major profits from films like Snow White which had seen high revenues, Walt Disney had a tendency to use all profits from released films towards the production of new ones. In 1941, with the release of Fantasia, this policy led to severe economic loss within the company.

The studio was slow to return to the format, however: going over a decade before returning to the format.

Caselotti was the voice of the title character of the first Walt Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, for which she was named as a Disney Legend in 1994, making her the first female voice actor so named.
