About our Courses. The 11+ Familiarisation Course is a course offered to boys and girls in Year 5 who are considering applying for a place at a grammar school. It consists of 6 after-school sessions on Wednesday evenings and is held 3 times each year, once per term. The 3 courses are identical and so children need attend for just one term.
Appeal process. Panels must follow the two-Part decision making process for all appeals. If many appeals are to be heard, Part1 will normally be heard with other parents. Otherwise, Part 1 and Part 2 will both be heard in private for each appeal. Part 1 usually takes about 2 hours and is concerned with legality and ‘Resources’.)
Our Heritage. The Bishop’s School, as it was then called, opened on its current site on the 16th April 1890 with 45 boys. Girls were welcomed in 1902 and the school was coeducational until 1927, when the girls departed to their new school on Stratford Road.
