Bengt Ronnie Peterson (born February 14, 1944 in Örebro, Sweden - died September 11, 1978 in Milan, Italy) was a Swedish Formula One driver. Ronnie Peterson estaba casado con la exmodelo Barbro Peterson desde abril de 1975, de quien tuvo una hija, Nina Louise, aquel mismo año. Ronnie Peterson nasceu em Örebro, na vizinhança de Almby.Ele desenvolveu sua pilotagem muito jovem, quando ainda competia no kart, e carregou esse estilo até a Fórmula 1 — muitas das mais conhecidas fotografias de Peterson ao volante retratam seu carro deslizando nas quatro rodas em alguma curva qualquer.
Peterson only raced it three times before it was shelved in favour of the 721G, which he flattered with a fine third on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. His efforts impressed Lotus boss Colin Chapman enough to offer Peterson a place alongside reigning world champion Emerson Fittipaldi in 1973.
