We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Royal Naval College. We were picked up by a small bus in town and driven up the hill to the College. Once there we were completely entertained by Colin our guide, who gave a really interesting and fascinating insight into the life of the cadets, the Royal Navy and the history of the College.
The Royal School of Naval Architecture, which had been part of the College since 1873, transferred to University College London in 1967. The Royal Naval College continued to train women until 1976, when their courses were transferred to the Britannia Royal Naval College.
