Established in 1981, Kwantlen Polytechnic University is an undergraduate university granting four-year bachelor degrees and offers diplomas, certificates, university transfers, and qualifying studies opportunities that may later integrate into a bachelor's degree.
In 1995, Kwantlen got the status of a University, and its name was changed to Kwantlen University College. As Canada's only Polytechnic University , Kwantlen today, offers hands-on skills in addition to traditional academics to more than 20,000 students annually.
University Qualifying Studies provides an opportunity for study to students who want pursue upgrading or preparatory studies prior to beginning their undergraduate or vocational program. Students in this program of study can take both Qualifying Studies and Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses.

As an ELS student, you'll improve your English proficiency by completing courses focused on reading and writing skills and listening and speaking skills. These courses are student-centred with a focus on real-world communication. When possible, we offer 3-credit electives that focus on pronunciation and on grammar.
