Elmer Bernstein reflects on his life and career. On August 18, 2004, surrounded by family at his home in Ojai, California, Elmer Bernstein lost his battle with cancer. He was 82. His memorial service, held in October at Paramount Pictures, saw an attendance of over 300 friends, family members, and colleagues, but he was mourned by millions.

4 dic 2006 · A number of Elmer Bernstein collections have come out in the years since this disc was released by Denon in 1993, but this is still one of the best. Most of the great film score composers were good conductors and Bernstein was one of the best. Re-recordings can always be a bit suspect but Those conducted by Bernstein always delivered.
