Emma L. Darwin (born 8 April 1964) is an English historical fiction author, writer of the novels The Mathematics of Love (2006) and A Secret Alchemy (2008) and various short stories. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Charles and Emma Darwin .
Emma Darwin was born and brought up in London, but has also spent time in both Manhattan and Brussels, and later studied Drama at university. Her debut novel The Mathematics of Love (Headline Review) is probably the only novel ever to have been simultaneously listed for both the Commonwealth Writers Best First Book, and the RNA Novel of the Year prizes.
Emma Darwin (née Wedgwood; 2 May 1808–7 October 1896) was an English woman and the wife of Charles Darwin. Charles Darwin was a very important biologist. Emma was the daughter of Josiah Wedgwood II. Josiah II was the son of Josiah Wedgwood. Josiah was a potter and founder of the Wedgwood company. Charles Darwin was her cousin.

6 giorni fa · Emma Darwin (1808–1896) was especially remembered for her patience and fortitude in dealing with her husband's long term illness, which became apparent shortly after their marriage. In nursing and humouring Charles through his many ups and downs, she was a crucial factor in her husband's scientific accomplishments.

An excellent pianist, she had studied briefly with Chopin. As Darwin’s feelings for Emma grew, he worried about his looks.
