Girl Guiding. At Girl Guiding New Zealand, girls are always counting down to their next adventure! Our girls make a bunch of new friends, while having new experiences and a whole lot of fun. There are three groups that meet at St Mark’s; Brownies (7-9 Years), Guides (9-12.5 years) and rangers (12.5 – 17 years) who meet on Thursday evenings.
St Mark’s Church School is a private, multicultural, co-educational school. It has a roll of 203 students from Years 1 to 8. It celebrates its centenary this year, 2017. Since the May 2013 ERO report, governance structures have changed. The school is now a registered charity (CC53318) associated with the Anglican Diocese of Wellington.

In June, 1921, the vicar of St Mark's Parish in Opawa, Canon Henry Williams, established a church day school in a small room of the Sunday School in the church grounds, between what was then Church Lane and Cholmondeley Avenue. At that time Miss Cameron headed the school, which had a roll of about 30 children.
