Odelay is an exciting mixture of smooth alternative rock with loads of influences ranging from country, to lo-fi, to electronic, to noise rock, and to even hip hop. Beck's dry vocals drone along in an apathetic indie drawl that picks up into shouts obscured by feedback and extensive use of clipping at spontaneous intervals in many of the tracks.
