ott 2021. A volte descritto come il più antico dei nuovi collegi e il più nuovo del vecchio per il fatto che questo collegio fu aggiunto all'università solo tra il 1596 e il 1869 . Molti degli edifici furono costruiti in stile neoclassico con la Cappella del Downing College che è il più imponente di tutti gli edifici.
The teaching of Downing’s undergraduates is shared between the University and the College. University faculties and departments hold lectures and practical classes, attended by students from all colleges. Individual or small-group teaching is provided by the College, taught by our Fellows and by those from elsewhere in the University.
