Bhumika Chawla (born Rachna Chawla; 21 August 1978) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Telugu film industry and in a Hindi and Tamil films to her credits. [1] [2] Chawla made her acting debut with the Telugu film Yuvakudu (2000).
The film follows the life of a successful film star, revealing her increasing alienation in a role both glamorized and patronized by society. After being forced into show business by her family, she spends her time between studios and disastrous love affairs, and feels more and more dissatisfied.

Bhumika is inspired by the autobiography of the 1940s Marathi and Hindi movie star Hansa Wadkar. The book, as told to journalist Arun Sadhu, used the title of her most famous film, the mega hit musical Sangtye Aika (1959), translating loosely as "Listen, and I'll Tell."

Bhumika is a drama film directed by Shyam Benegal. The film stars stars Late Smita Patil, Amol Palekar, Anant Nag, Naseeruddin Shah and Late Amrish Puri. The film is majorly based on the Marathi-language memoirs, Sangtye Aika of the well-known Marathi actress of the 1940s Late Hansa Wadkar.
