HB Studio is a 501©3 nonprofit organization and the artists are the heart and soul of HB Studio’s mission. HB relies on the generosity of our community to make tax-deductible donations to help us provide affordable training, ongoing professional mentored development opportunities, free community events, and critical financial aid through scholarships.
HB Studio’s Acting Conservatory at The Uta Hagen Institute. Year long (three-term) full-time training for actors, for those seeking immersion in the acting process. An integrative course of study addressing all aspects of the actor’s craft, including acting technique, voice, movement, text analysis, and more.
Founded by Viennese actor/director Herbert Berghof in 1945, HB Studio is one of the original New York acting studios, providing training and practice in the performing arts. We are a nonprofit organization that supports vigorous, lifelong practice in the theater, based on a solid foundation of practical training.
Acting Classes at HB Studio in NYC – HB Studio’s approach to acting is practical and physical. We mean for you to realize all the means at your disposal to discover yourself in the character’s particulars and to come alive, in action, on camera or on stage.
The HB Studio (Herbert Berghof Studio) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization offering professional training in the performing arts through classes, workshops, free lectures, theater productions, theater rentals, a theater artist residency program, as well as full-time study through their International Student Program [1] and Uta Hagen Institute.
