6 nov 2023 · 20th Century Fox, 1993. There are plenty of things that make no sense in Robin Hood: Men In Tights. Many of the off-color jokes would not fly in a parody of the Robin Hood genre today. Upon a re-watch, the pace is surprisingly slow, and the plot needless confusing, even for an adaptation meant to be off-kilter.

Watched the first episode "The Coming of Robin Hood" as part of my Film and Television Course at Uni. Television from the 1950s largely hasn't aged too well, espeically in terms of it's "cinematic" quality, however there is a certain feeling which TV programs like this emanate which I do quite like.

21 nov 2018 · Robin Hood is no classic, but if it sometimes seems like it’s trying to be “Baz Luhrmann’s Robin Hood,” more power to it. The movie is a diverting live-wire lark — one that, for my money, gets closer to the spirit of what Robin Hood is about than the logy 1991 Kevin Costner version or the dismal 2010 Russell Crowe version.
